Given the intense competition that surrounds election in our dear association (NASELS), the candidates who are to steer and coordinate affairs within the next academic calendar of course will be hoping that the Association’s Independent Electoral Commission (NASELSIEC), will not only conduct free, fair and credible elections but also handle all complaints that may arise from the upcoming election with a high sense of duty and decency, without fear or favour.

Also, following the lifting of the ban on campaigns by NASELSIEC at about 10:19 PM on Wednesday, 22nd of September, 2021, the Chairman, Adedayo Babatunde, officially declared that those vying for any electoral post “can now start declaring their intentions”. He also added that campaigns, manifestos, and a lot more could kick-start.

Sequel to the adoption of the NASELSIEC’s recommendation, as contained in her constitution, which stipulates a minimum of 2.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on a scale of 4.0, candidates contesting for the coveted seats of the Association have been fully informed of their need to meet the electoral requirements so as to be eligible for the posts they aspire for. Thus, the electoral arm of the Association, with crossed fingers expects the various candidates to start rolling out their drums ahead of the election activities, which are billed to take place, according to the Chairman, on Thursday, 4th November 2021–as follows accordingly:

I. Screening: Friday, 5th Nov. 2021

II. Press Night: Tuesday, 9th Nov. 2021

III. Manifesto Night: Wednesday, 10th Nov. 2021

IV. Elections: Thursday, 11th Nov. 2021
