The University of Ibadan Management has given a two-week extension for the payment of tuition fees, which is set for June 20, 2025.
The memorandum duly signed by the Student Union President and General Secretary, announced receiving the deadline extension after “a robust, sustained and extensive deliberation” concerning the school fee and other internal issues in certain faculties reports with the University Management as against the proposed deadline stated for June 6th, 2025.

According to the release, the Union had preemptively opposed the June 6th deadline citing insufficient time and resources due to prevailing economic realities in the country. However, the Union had opted to keep quiet about the change while collaborating with the Bursary Unit to expedite the processing of the outstanding refunds from the previous session.
They also lobbied for the reversal of the studio fees for 300L, 400L, and 500L students in the Faculty of Technology and Department of Science & Technology Education in the Faculty of Education.
“We can as well confirm that these charges which are identified as discrepancies are already being reversed, and have begun to reflect on affected students’ portals”, it reads.
In addition, the Union assured the commencement of the disbursement of the Education Loan Funds to the students who applied through their engagement.
