Covenant Odedele, the UI’SU President has suspended the Congress after 2 hours 30 minutes due to incomplete quorum.

In his address, he claimed the number on the attendance did not meet the quorum according to the constitution. He also revealed how the executives had made an effort to mobilise students “we have also tried to mobilise students from the Halls of Residence, we asked leaders across constituencies too”. He however concluded that the Congress has been suspended.

This action spurred different reactions from those students who have waited for so long with no convergence to resolve the hike in tuition fees.

It should be noted that the Executive Council failed to make an official call for the Congress 30- minutes after the UI’SRC resolution.
