The Association of Faculty of Arts Students, University of Ibadan (AFAS ,UI) has welcomed freshmen by holding gyration on May 14th, 2025.

The event, held at the Quadrangle, welcomed freshmen and staylites from various departments within and outside the Faculty.The gyration also had her attendees dancing to the tune from the buzzing speaker and the hyping from Thompson.

A Nasels Press correspondent speaking with the attendees about their experience spoke with Evelyn Henshaw from the department of Classics. She declared “This event is lit so far, I’m really enjoying the music and the vibes, especially the dancing”.

Tope, a 400-level student from the department of Philosophy said, “It’s a nice party, but they still need to learn from the previous administration.”

Solomon, a fresher from Political Science who came to have some nice time admitted the gyration was OK. “It’s even lively,” he added.

While others were swept away by the energy, Aramide from the department of Archeology and Anthropology was indifferent about the event. He confessed he is not a party person “he is just there”, he admitted.

The Freshers’ week which commenced today with Games, Sport, and Gyration will continue for the next two days with Orientation and Atrium variety Night/ Mr. & Miss. AFAS Fresher Pageantry respectively.
