The Council of Hall Chairpersons has issued a memorandum to formally notify the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the proposal to increase the basic hall dues from the usual Three Thousand Naira (₦3000) to Five Thousand Naira (₦5000)across all the halls of residence.The memorandum which was signed by the Chairman, Anifowose Nafisat and the secretary, Adenekan Adeifeoluwa, states that “the current fee has proven insufficient to meet essential expenses, including sanitation, security and infrastructural maintenance”.

Furthermore, it was stated that the proposed increment “has been carefully considered in light of rising maintenance costs, improved hall services and the need to enhance the overall welfare of students”.To attend to any concerns, The Council of Hall Chairpersons requests an opportunity to engage with the Student Representative Council (SRC) in a formal discussion where they can present their rationale in detail. The release is coming at a time when there is an ongoing fight against school fee hikes plus the general high cost of living in school and the country at large.
