The National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, University of Ibadan under the administration of the ‘Bomi Adamson-led Team Innovation and Evolution on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, held her Award and Dinner Night for the 2023/2024 academic session.

The Award and Dinner Night which was tagged “A Native Soiree” was graced by members of each level in attendance and more importantly, the outgoing 400 level students of the department. 

The occasion also witnessed the presence of the Grand Patron of the Department of English, Professor Remi Raji, Dr Charles Akinsete, who is the staff adviser and  senior lecturer in the department, alongside one of the sponsors of the event, Miss Uche Okolie.

A brief address was given by Dr Charles Akinsete in acknowledgement of the outgoing 400 level students and wished them good success as they move ahead in their journey in life.

A welcome address, given by the  president appreciated every member of the association and wished for the progress of the association.

Several games were played such as scavenger hunt, complete the lyrics, name culture peculiarities including a raffle draw with all members in attendance getting a gift home. Poems were also rendered to the graduates by students in 100 and 300-level in person of Jimoh Mistura and Adeife Faridah respectively. Additionally, Dayvo, an invited artist, gave a solo performance, while some student artists ,Johnny Rapper and Angel, both 200-level students, performed together as a duo.

Furthermore, there was the swearing in of the new executives who will be taking over in the next session.

The Award and Dinner Night ended with awards given to several categories of people who did wonderfully well during the Team innovation and Evolution tenure.
