The 200 level representatives at the NASELS Inter-Level Oratory, Blessings Emmanuel and Priscilla Patrick have emerged the winner of the oratory contest on January 16th, 2025.
The contest, held in Room 32, Faculty of Arts marked the Day 4 event of the NASELS week with seven representatives across the four levels who spoke on the topic ‘Creating balance between academic life and social life’.
Temiloluwa Adebiyi, the department’s L&D President, in an opening charge admitted the contest is organised to make contestants learn how to speak as leaders. “It is not a competition but an opportunity to learn,” she said.
Speakers at this contest were Blessing Ajise and Victoria Okorie from 100l, Blessings Emmanuel and Priscilla Patrick from 200l, Joy Abraham and Alade Florence from 300l, and Edima Blessing Bassey from 400l.
Accordingly, the judges are Mr.Morakinyo Temidayo, President of Kuti Hall L&D, Miss Sakeenah Kareem, Vice-President, Faculty of Arts L&D and Miss Adigun Mary, President of Faculty of Arts L&D.
Mr. Morakinyo announced the evaluation criteria will be based on originality, organisation, delivery, stage management, physical appearance and time management
Based on these, 300l made 53% points, 100l had 54.5%, 400l had 54.5% and 200l made 61.7%, emerging the winner of the contest and Blessings Emmanuel emerging as the best speaker.
