The 12th Southwest Regional Executives of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, celebrate their 100 days in office on January 8, 2025.

The celebration, titled CELEBRATING 100 DAYS IN OFFICE: THE ACHIEVEMENT AND PLANS OF THE 12TH NASELS SOUTHWEST REGIONAL EXECUTIVES under the leadership of Comrade Oluwatomi Kehinde Odetola, recounted the achievements and plans of the executives.

The administration which commenced in August 31st, 2024 have announced on NASELS Southwest website their achievements in office so far. These are the organisation of workshop on journalism, public speaking and cyberbullying, the creation of NASELS Southwest channel with over 300 followers, NASELS Southwest WhatsApp group with over 1,000 members, and the success of the first Regional Executives Council meeting.

In addition, is the change of the annual publication of Periscope magazine to a monthly one and also the fair appointment of officers across the region.

Addressing the plans of the executives, “one of the most exciting is the preparation for WESTCOSELS 2025, which will feature fun activities like stage performances, a themed dinner with a masked ball, and debates. Students will also have the chance to participate in essay writing competitions, and well-known figures like Niyi Osundare are expected to give lectures. Another goal is to increase the involvement of State Directors in decision-making, ensuring that everyone has a voice in the activities of the region,” it reads.

The Administration pledges to make the region stronger, more united and more engaged as they move forward.

Apparently, Adeyefa Ebenezer, a representative of NASELS UI, is the Director of Media among the fourteen executives from different institutions in the southwest.
