“Come and see the drama that happened today where we went for our photoshoot.”

Amidst the recent ongoing crisis in the executive council over the suspension of two members of the executive council, a source has told NASELS Press that the council is divided as aggrieved members of the team have backed out on their plans to get sponsors for the dinner and award night, while they have also reneged on their promise to donate for it.

NASELS Press can confirm that some members of the executives are not on good terms with President Babatunde Adamson over the role they thought he played in the allegations of negligence of duties, issues surrounding unavailability, creating of humour in the group chat of the executives among others levied against four members of the executives.

“The Council is divided because of what he’s done. People that want to bring sponsors are backing out. Some are reneging in their promises,” the source claimed.

However, the source told the press that the General Secretary, Okoh Doris, has reneged on her plan to support the NASELS Dinner, an end-of-the-session event with a sum of #20,000, fueling the crisis among the executives.

The source added, “From the beginning of this administration, he told everyone, particularly Doris because we all know she’s a very busy lady, that he’s always available to step into her shoes whenever she’s got a gig.”

“That woman has never failed to inform us of her unavailability. She carries us along every time. I was shocked to see that he said she’s been deficient in performing her duties,” the source concluded.

NASELS Press learned about the developments following the two-week suspension given to the Public Relations Officers and General Secretary by the NASELS Probe Panel that was selected at the Congress held on December 12. Likewise, the Public Relations Officers, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary were asked to write an apology and send it to the NASELS Family Page before noon on Friday, while the treasurer was to send his apology to the executives’ WhatsApp page.

As of the time of the press report, the three of them have sent their apology letter to the Family Page before noon.

The source also told NASELS Press that there was a ‘drama’ that occurred when the executive council went for their photoshoot on Friday. Furthermore, it was also stated that an allegation of taking money without the consent of the Staff Advisor levied against the executives by the former Editor-in-Chief was right.

When asked about her withdrawal to support Dinner with N20,000, the general secretary said that she reneged on her support because she was battling financial difficulties.

However, she admitted that she did not carry her responsibility efficiently though she stated that she communicated her reasons to the council.

The president told NASELS Press he did not know about the issues of removing the commitment to getting sponsors of the aggrieved executives and reneging on their plans to donate for Dinner.
