First City Monument Bank (FCMB) in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts, University of Ibadan(AFAS UI) held a brainstorming session on Friday 22nd November, 2024 to enlighten students on business education and financial literacy.

The session was graced by three representives from the financial institution, AFAS President, Adeniyi Olamilekan popularly known as Mojuba, executives and Afasites.

Speaking on business education, Mr Owolabi, a representative from the bank, encouraged the students to have a vision that challenges and pushes boundaries.

He stated that a vision should be clear, concise and with future focus. “Vision and goal are prerequisites in every business”, he added.

The next speaker, Mr Timothy, stressed the importance of financial literacy by highlighting some important points on financial literacy. He encouraged the attendees to make and always review budget as this will help map out activities and help in financial literacy. He explained on budgeting,savings, loans, investment and insurance.“understanding finances helps to make an informed decision”, he stated. 

He further advised participants to invest money wisely. “You should also seek professional advice in regards to your finances”, he counselled.

The program ended with a brainstorming session on how to help the bank improve their customer service and attendees got certified for participating.
