On Thursday, 21st of November, 2024, Heritage Park which is located around the University of Ibadan main gate, opposite Queen Elizabeth Hall was demolished in the early hours of the day.

Rumors have it that it is a proposed site for a new senate building,however, the accuracy of this information is yet to be verified as at the time of reporting.

The deforestation has spurred many reactions as most students and passerby expressed their displeasure.

Aside from its environmental benefits to humanity, it once served as a recreation center for events and its canopy branches as a cover in the sunny weather.
