The President of the University of Ibadan Students Union (UISU), Aweda Bolaji, on Saturday 17 August 2024, walked out of the Congress held to address the issue of hike in school fees.

The NASELS Press can confirm that there were a lot of heated arguments between the president and members present at the congress.

The angry students had berated the UISU executive council over what they tagged irresponsibility from the leaders.

Aweda Bolaji, at the height of the resolutions being suggested, walked out of the meeting and made the fee hike issue unresolved.

Recall that UI students are still befuddled about whether they should pay the school fees as they are being forced in their department and faculties or they should hold the words of the union not to pay the school fees until the union reaches an agreement with the management.

The NASELS Press can confirm that a lot of students still hang around to see Aweda come back to address the issue.

More to come.
