Aweda Bolaji, the president of the University of Ibadan Student Union (UI’SU), on Wednesday 14th August 2024, succumbed to pressure from students by calling for a congress. 

The embattled president called the Congress amidst the pressure mounted upon him by UI students. 

UISU executive council codenamed Team Amelioration called for the congress in a memo jointly signed. 

The Congress is to be held on Saturday 17 August 2024 at 7 am in SUB Foyer. 

Recall that 250 students had signed a petition for the UISU executive council to call a congress in the wake of the protest held on 16th and 17th July where students protested against hike in school fees and electricity rationing.
