The NASELS Press General Editor, Emmanuel Awoko, has been selected among the young journalists to participate in the program organized by Media for Information Literacy organisation (MIL) in collaboration with LEAP Africa and Nigeria Youth Futures Fund.

Emmanuel, who doubles as the Managing Editor of Bello Press, was selected among the 89 applicants who pitched their stories on how to educate people about media and information literacy in the society.

The boot-camp is to be an intensive 3-day training on the principles of journalism, fact-checking, and report writing, amongst others.

In his response to this selection, “I am humbled to be selected for this training, and I really will give my best to master everything that can make me an ethical journalist, and someone relevant in the media space.” he said.

He is currently a 300-level student in the Department of English, and he was the news editor of NASELS Press in the previous academic session.
