The Sports Committee of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies, University of Ibadan, on Friday 6th August 2024, announced the maiden intra-departmental Exco League competition for football players.

According to the release made by the Sports Secretary, Adeleye Boma, on the NASELS Family Page, the “Exco League”, which was stated to have been proudly supported and initiated by Team Innovation and Evolution, is going to be the first of its kind in the department. The EXCO League is a brand new intra-departmental football tournament that will be bringing together five teams from the department.

In the caption, “Over four weeks, each team, consisting of a dynamic blend of male and female players, will compete against each other in a round-robin format, vying for points and a spot at the top. The ultimate goal is to be crowned the champion of the EXCO LEAGUE, claiming the trophy and a cash prize”

He added that a new edition would kick-off every semester. Hence, students in the department were implored to register at any point that they wanted to and they should get ready for a thrilling ride of football.
