The National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies Executives have on Monday, August 5, revoked their decision to unseat the Public Relations Officer, Demilade Okunola.

This was coming after a congress that was held in Room 71 for the fair hearing and potential dismissal of Okunola Demilade, the public relations officer of the association.

The allegations levelled against Hon. Demilade Okunola were as follows:

1)Perennial Absences at Council Meetings.

2)Disregard for Council Policies.

However, the congress ended without a resolution after other departmental issues buried the main business of the day, as Hon.Lawal Abdulquyum then moved the motion for an adjournment after which it was decided that the congress should be reconvened by Friday, August 9, 2024.

In the late hours of August 5, 2024, a memo was sent to the NASELS family Page which headlined: “Resolution of the Misunderstanding involving the executive Council and the PRO,” and the executive council then revealed that the misunderstanding had been resolved amicably, hence the decision to dismiss the PRO had been suspended.

Reiterating their love for peace in the association, they wrote: “This resolution underscores the importance of choosing peace and dialogue over avoidable and insubstantial controversies.”
