On the 3rd of August, 2024, the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies under the administration of Team Innovation and Evolution organised the first of its kind cleaning and dusting session of the departmental library, to enhance its functionality.

This cleaning was done after the memo that was released, requesting representatives from each level in the association with a goal to “ensuring a conducive study environment and preserving our collection of resources.”

The cleaning, therefore, includes representatives from all levels with a total number of 20 participants rolling from 100 level to 400 level.

Participants also include the President of the association, Babatunde Adamson, Vice President, Yetunde Hamzat, Sports Director, Adeleye Korede, Chief Librarian Adewole Anuoluwa, and the Social Director, Afolabi Gloria, and some other principal officers.

The sanitation served as an avenue for the NASELSItes that were around to bond and get together with one another.

Furthermore, the works of some lecturers like Prof. Doyin Aguoru, Prof. Omobowale, Dr. Charles Akinsete, and Prof. Remi Raji, among others, were seen and appreciated.

Amidst the cleaning, Prof. Ayobami Kehinde came around to commend those involved.

In the remark given by the Chief Librarian, she said, “Today’s cleaning will encourage NASELSites to patronise the library more. The cleaning has also restructured the library, and unearthed the treasures that are available in the NASELS library.”

Adding to this is the Vice President, who stated, “I feel fulfilled and happy with the little we’ve done today.”

The president, while also thanking everyone who came around, said he hoped the cleaning would not stop here, “I look forward to seeing the library sanitation become a tradition.”
