Philosophy talisman, Agbetuyi John (Papi) made his tallies to 13 as he scored one goal in the Philosophy 2-0 victory over the Department of Electrical Engineering in its second match in SEALS Cup’24.

The Plato Academy, having won the competition last session, lost its first match to Veterinary Medicine, which made it sit at the bottom of the Group A table after the first round of group matches.

Nevertheless, the Philosophy male football team put up a beautiful performance with Papi scoring in the first half, while Ebenezer scored the second goal from an open play in the second half of the game.

A host of chances were missed in the early kick-off match as both teams struggled to find the back of the net in quick succession.

The victory, nonetheless, put Philosophy in the second position in the group log as Statistics won its first two games.

The Plato Academy will local horns with Statistics on the last matchday of the group as it continues to defend its champion.
