The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor Kayode O.  Adebowale, mni, FAS, felicitated with the Faculty of Social Sciences for founding a new department- Department of Employment Relation and Human Resource Management.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted the involvement of the Faculty of Social Science to the university’s development and expressed his delight to the Faculty’s management in their courtesy visit to his office.

Professor Adebowale drew attention to the significance of the faculty staff, students, and alumni locally and globally. 

In his speech, he urged that the existing departments should provide support for the new department and also recognized the need for new offices and classrooms for the faculty.

The Vice-Chancellor’s contributions to the growth of the Faculty of the Social Sciences, particularly in the creation of the new department were acknowledged by Prof. E. E. Nwokocha, the Dean of the Faculty. 

In addition, he also clarified that the Faculty Health Hub had recently been renovated and the faculty conference venue had recently been funded by Professor Adebowale. 

In order to give more office space and lecture halls, Prof. Nwokocha encouraged the VC to also consider the faculty building’s extension.
