At 5:10 pm on the 20th of March, 2024, the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies Electoral Commission (NASALSEC) University of Ibadan (UI) announced the winners of the NASELS Election.

Amidst the aspirants, 5 winners emerged victorious in the NASELS 2022/2023 session election.

According to the result released by the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies Electoral Commission (NASELSEC UI), the candidates have satisfied the electoral requirements by having the highest number of votes cast. Thus, they were declared the winners of the 2022/2023 election.

‘Bomi Adamson, who had run unopposed for the post of president, had the valid votes of 45 against 18 undecided votes.

Hamzat Yetunde who had run against Ali Tishi for the post of Vice President emerged as the elected candidate. She had the valid votes of 34 against 27 votes of her opponent.

Okoh Doris, who contested unopposed, had the valid votes of 51 against 12 undecided votes and had run unopposed for the post of the General Secretary.

Next is Miss Afolabi Gloria, now the social director-elected, had 56 valid votes against 7 undecided. Lastly, Okunola Demilade emerged as a winner with 54 valid votes against the 9 undecided.

At the early hours of Wednesday 20th March 2024, between the duration of 10:30 am and 2 pm, eligible voters who have paid their basic dues trooped to the departmental library to exercise their franchise.
