Ali Tishi Promise, the financial secretary, and Hamzat Yetunde Gold, the social director, of the National Association of Students of English and Literary Studies (NASELS) executive council codenamed Team Rejuvenation, opened up a public resignation on Monday to proceed with their political quest.

These vying candidates dropped their resignation letters simultaneously on the NASELS Family Page, and further information follows as seen.

Tishi’s resignation letter reads,

LETTER OF RESIGNATION.

Dear NASELSites.

I, Ali Promise Tishi, officially resigns as your financial secretary. Serving as the financial secretary has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I had the opportunity of meeting almost everyone in the department and new relationships were formed. I will forever cherish the moment and be grateful to everyone for making this a rewarding experience for me.

A new opportunity came my way and I would like to pursue that and the effect is my resignation which gives me mixed feelings.

In order for a smooth transition, I will hand over everything that has to do with the department’s account and finance to the treasurer and the president.

I am happy about this new opportunity and I’m also confident the department will continue to grow and thrive in all ways.

Thank you once again for this opportunity you’ve given me and I’ll forever be grateful.

Sincerely,

Ali Promise Tishi.

Yetunde wrote in her resignation post,

Dear Naselsites,

It is with mixed emotions that I announce my resignation as your Social Director. This decision wasn’t easy, but a new opportunity has arisen that aligns closely with my passion to serve in the dela and I’ve chosen to pursue it.

Serving as your Social Director has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been able to organize some memorable events in the department; Our Retro Day , Movie Night and many others and also being able to promote oneness among Naselsites . I’ve cherished the relationships I’ve built and the memories we’ve created together.

While I’m excited about this new chapter, I’m also confident that Naselsites will continue to thrive. The foundation we’ve built together is strong, and I have no doubt that the team will keep organizing engaging and impactful social events.I’m committed to ensuring a smooth transition. I’ll be happy to assist with training my successor and completing any outstanding projects.

Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve as your Social Director. I’ll always cherish the memories and friendships made here.

Sincerely,

Hamzat Yetunde Gold.”

While responding to this, some NASELSites stated on the group “This is getting interesting.” and another stated, “Battle in English department. This one no be Buka street“, while another said, “This looks like it is going to be fun.”

In the end, the NASELS PRO, Adesina Elijah, release on the forthcoming picnic read that the president is through severe heartache because of the resignations, and therefore, implores students to pay up their picnic fees as a means of compensation.
