The biggest public speaking debate in Sub-saharan West Africa which had commenced on the 30th of January had in three turns hosted four faculty of arts literary and debating speakers and they all shined in their various represented constituents with whopping victorious scores.

First is Olayide Bolaji, a 400 level student of the department of English who is currently serving as the president of Arts Literary and Debating Society, and also Lord Tedder Hall Literary and Debating President. At the last Hall of Residence second leg which he showed up, Bolaji did not only take the victory to Tedder hall, but he also bagged the highest score and won the best speaker for the day.

Moving on, another speaker at Jawwar by name, Mary Adigun, a 300 level student from the department of Theatre Arts who is currently serving as the president of Awo literary and debating and also the vice president of Faculty of Arts Literary and debating, had also hoisted the standard of the faculty of Arts when it comes to public speaking. She represented her hall of residence, Obafemi Awolowo Hall and she won for her constituent.

Also, Morakinyo Temidayo, a 300-level student of the Department of Communication and Language Arts who represented Ransome Kuti Hall while speaking against Sultan Bello Hall at the first leg for halls of residence, serves as the current Public Relations Officer of Arts Literary and Debating. Temidayo also thrives while representing his constituents at Jawwar.

Likewise, for the preliminary level for the Faculty category, Arts won against the faculty of Veterinary Medicine with a whooping score of 75.25 while their opponent had 69.22. The representatives for the faculty are both 200-level students of the Department of Communication and Language Arts. The first speaker is Sakeenah Kareem, and the second is Mahbubat Kayinsola Salaudeen.

In the end, Tijani Abdulkabeer, a speaker from Nnamdi Azikwe Hall who is as well a current 300-level student in the Department of History also shined while representing his hall of residence in the first leg category.
