Hazmat Yetunde is the social director for the National association of students of English and literary studies, university of Ibadan. In this interview with JOHN TAIWO, She shares her plan for events in the new semester.

What has it been like serving as the social director of this great department?

It has been nothing but a great experience to me and NASELSites have also made it easy for me with their participation in the department’s activities so far . So, it has been great.

Have there been hindrances on your way of fulfilling your promises to NASELSites?

There has not been any hindrances so far , because God has been helping me and also NASELSites have been participating which would have been a hindrance, but glory be to God so far . I believe the interest of NASELSites has been aroused particularly by this administration.

What are the plans for the new semester?

There have been plans going on for this new semester. I, alongside the executives, are planning to have a general hangout, which hasn’t happened for a long while now and also our NASELS’ week and the dinner with other plans that will be disclosed later. God helping us and also with further cooperation of the NASELS.

How do you intend to execute these plans?

These plans would be executed with the cooperation and active participation of the Naselsites and also sponsors within and outside the department.

Do you think you still have what it takes to sustain the already-aroused expectations of NASELSites from your administration?

Yes, I still do. God that started with us will help us till the end. More social events to come this semester. Hands are on deck for it to be made possible.

You mentioned some already but are there other events that the NASELS will hold? Could you help with a comprehensive list of all the events that will be held?

Other events will be communicated as time goes on . I can’t really say yet. Our picnic is coming soon. Then NASELS’ week, which is a three day program.

What are the administrative plans for massive turnouts for these events?

We will try to push our events through publicity as much as we can. We will address NASELSites, either one on one or level to level to ensure a good turnout.

Has there been any difficulty you have been having since being at the helm?

We haven’t faced any major difficulty as God is helping us.

While we hope that everything turns out well, given that there has been no hindrances on your way to fulfilling your promises to NASELsites, if you’re unable to perform all, would you consider that a personal flaw seeing there are no hindrances?

Any plans we push out will be a feasible one and I will try to perform them to the best of my ability, so there won’t be any space for not carrying out a particular event .
