The clean-up activity commenced with the convergence of the volunteers at the first gate of the University of Ibadan by the prompt and early seventh hour in the morning. The volunteers carried out a short exercise organized by PLOGGING NIGERIA in order to warm up the eager volunteers for the work ahead. The Vice Chancellor represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Science as well as the Dean of Student who was represented a prominent representative graced the clean-up exercise with their honorable presence and also intellectually addressed the volunteers with short speeches.

This was followed by the distribution of the clean-up materials to the volunteers which included nose masks, gloves, trash bags, pickers, rakes, brooms and so on. The volunteers were then promptly divided into ten groups, each group headed to different destinations across the university campus picking waste materials they came across on the way.  Each of the groups were led by a team leader who were each representative of RECYCLING ALLIANCE who are called THE GREEN CAMPUS AMBASSADORS from each faculty in the University of Ibadan. Each group were assigned specific materials like nylons, bottles, papers etc. to pick as they walked around the campus grounds.

The exercise rounded up with all the volunteers and participants converging at the Student Union Building (S.U.B) after which each participant was given a cup of hot coffee due to the weather conditions of the chilly day. This was followed by the customary activity called WEIGH. This involved the weighing of the bottles collected by each group which summed up to a total of two hundred and fifty kilograms (250 kg) of pep bottles. While the nylons and papers were poured into the incinerator for University of Ibadan ventures to pick up later in the day as directed by the JUNIOR CHAMBER INTERNATIONAL Chairperson of the clean-up activity, which they promptly complied with.

The clean-up exercise comes to an end with refreshments distributed to the volunteers, the presentation of certificate of participation to every volunteer followed by the posting of the clean-up activity on social media handles by the volunteers and participants. This activity had a winner,  Obafunmisho Oluwapelumi  the president of the faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, who had amassed the highest number of likes. The second and third also being gifted for the number of likes on their social media handles.
