It was a Black Tuesday on the 12th of September when a popular Nigerian street hop singer and former rapper under Naira Marley’s Marlian Music record label, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad was declared dead.

According to reports, the rapper sadly passed away from an ear infection. Sources from his team informed the tabloids that the rapper took a trip to the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, September 12, for treatment, after which he was administered an injection which later resulted in his death.

It was a rude shock for all as he was just getting to the peak of his career, and he had just released his new EP titled Blessed which is now topping music billboards worldwide. It was perceived as a rumor until his family confirmed his death.

WHAT KILLED MOHBAD?

As at the time of writing this, the real cause of his death is yet to be uncovered as there are different speculations surrounding his death. Some have said that Naira Marley, the boss of his former record label with whom he had a fallout should be quizzed because the late pop star had called him out severally.

Others have said that the nurse who administered the injection should be arrested and interrogated to know what kind of injection she gave to Mohbad. And, a few days after his death after much outcry, according to reports, the nurse had been picked up by the Police.

WHAT SHOULD WE BELIEVE?

It has been a week and 5 days after his death, and no concrete evidence has been found aside from the fact that his body has been exhumed from the ground with fresh blood spilled on the coffin making people believe that he may have been buried alive- Height of wickedness. Some opine that an autopsy will shed light on the mystery and stop the guesswork being done by netizens. But in all these, there seems to be something that the authorities are missing out on.

When Mohbad died, a video went viral with a guy crying in a car and Mohbad was lifeless in the vehicle with his hand shaking, and the guy kept weeping profusely that the young star had died. But, nobody seemed to question the source of the video or even launch a search for the boy in that video. Everyone only focused on dragging Naira Marley online and clamoring for JusticeforMohbbad# on the internet. We seem to not be asking the right question- Where is the boy in that video? 

It is rather unfortunate that the boy in that video may be of great help to solving the mystery behind the case, and until he is apprehended and brought in for questioning, we may tarry long on the road of assumptions and the trail of the perpetrators of this evil act may go cold.

Finally, since we cannot cry more than the bereaved, the death is a great loss that shook the country and beyond and it is only good if true justice is gotten for him.
