Can we meet you?

My name is Olutola Oluwadamilola, a 100l student of the Department of English.

As a student entrepreneur (studentpreneur), what do you do?

I basically sell trendy female clothes and accessories, like clothes, shoes, hair and other accessories.

Give us a short detail about your brand

The name of my brand is Daliz Fashion Frenzy. It’s a brand basically for females. I mean it deals with female wears, any kind of thing ladies wear, as long as it’s trendy and stylish.

Tell us how you located your area of interest in entrepreneurship.

It’s actually something I love to do. I’m a fashion person. I love to dress up and look good. Then I discovered that there are people like me too so I decided to go into the fashion line and for females precisely. Probably that’ll help me become the kind of fashionista I want to be.

What motivates you to become an entrepreneur?

The rate at which ladies and young girls spend money to look good these days is so alarming. So I decided to make a wise use of the opportunity by restricting my brand to only Gen-Zs.

Some believe that having entrepreneurial skill is natural, while some believe it is man-made. What is your viewpoint about it?

It can actually be both. It depends on the individual.

Tell us about the challenges you have encountered in the course of being an entrepreneur?

It’s difficult sometimes to get my business to reach the right audience or the right people. And also the nature of the business which is preordering. I have to be patient and persistent so that I can get enough people to order before the end of the batch. It’s really challenging for me. And I also feel like my brand isn’t reaching enough people.

Is “You Can Work Anywhere” dictum a force to your entrepreneurial disposition and acquisition?

No. It has nothing to do with that. If I were studying a professional course, I would find a way to be an entrepreneur because I’m passionate about it.It’s what I love to do.

White collar job or having an enterprise, which do you prefer and which is better to you?

Having an enterprise. Of course, who doesn’t want to be his or her own boss or CEO?

Tell us what you have done in your business

I have sourced for pictures of wears, paid for adverts to boost my viewers, created a brand logo, created an IG account for my business and placed orders from China and they got to Nigeria safely.

What are the methods you use to reach your customers?

Through social media platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and through other physical means.

How do you manage being a student as well as an entrepreneur at the same time?

Omo!!!!! It hasn’t been easy. I’ve been trying my best.I feel like I can use one stone to kill two birds. I’m also good at multitasking. I started the business during the election period. But I can say I’m not lagging behind in anything. Once it’s time for tests and exams, I’ll limit the way I post items and focus more on reading. Like I said, I know how to multitask. May God help me.

Who is your favourite entrepreneurial tycoon? Why?

I don’t have a specific one. But I see young ones like me in business and they are really making it. I feel like I can be one too and be better.

Tell us your favourite quote about entrepreneurship.

“People will stare. Make it worth their while.” Harry Winston. I chose this quote as my favourite because it’s in line with the kind of business I do.Whether you patronise my brand or not, people will stare. But it’s not every time people stare at you that you actually look good. So my point is, patronising my brand and wearing outfits from my brand will make it worth their while. People won’t stare to stare but because it’s worth it to stare.

A word of Advice for to-be and budding entrepreneurs

If you’re an upcoming entrepreneur, my advice for you is that you should be unique in whatever you do even if it’s something common.Just do it differently. Having this mindset will make you stand out.

Where do you see your business or enterprise in five years?

In five years, with God and by His grace, I see my business big and better.Y’all ain’t ready!!! I come in full force.
