Below are some facts about NASLES Prize for Literature:
- This competition started in 1953
- NASELS Prize for Literature started as publications of literary works by students of the University of Ibadan and most likely residents of Ibadan.
- Publications of these literary works were seen read, reviewed in magazines such as ‘The University Herald’, ‘The Horn’, ‘The Horizon, etc.
- The likes of Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, and Mabel Segun have participated in this competition, then submission of literary works.
- Two years ago, NASELS Prize for Literature was formerly known as ‘The Prof. Ayo Kehinde Prize for Literature ‘the then magnanimous sponsor of the competition.
- This year’s competition is going to be on the 16th of January, 2020. The categories are open to fictional works and Creative Non-fiction.
