The Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Education, Science and Veterinary Medicine have progressed to the semi-finals of the ongoing inter-halls /faculty debate contest known Jaw War which took place on Wednesday, 20th November 2019 at the Large Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Social Sciences.

The event which started some minutes past 5 ‘O clock began with Faculty of Clinical Science, which back out of the competition on alleged internal issues.

The topics debated r finals during the quarterfinals include “Call for Political Revolutionary in Nigeria: Necessary?”, “Cryptocurrency: The Future of Money?” and many others.

In the inter faculty debates,  results indicate that  Faculty Science beats clinical science 57 points to nil, Social Sciences fell 58 points to Faculty of Arts, 71.2, Faculty of Technology fell (64.6)   to Veterinary Medicine (69.2), while Faculty Law (63.9)  were beaten by Education (69.6).

For the Halls of residence, the Quarter Finals held on Friday, 22nd November. Alexander Brown Hall also pulled out of the debate due to some internal problems. After some technical hitch, the debate came to an end with Ayo Salako from Kuti hall emerging as the best speaker while Lord Tedder hall emerged as the best loser for the day.

The results are as follows Queen Idia Hall (63.9) vs Obafemi Awolowo Hall (77.75), Nnamdi Azikwe Hall (54.5) vs Ransome Kuti Hall (82.25), Independence Hall (71.5) vs Lord Tedder Hall (68)
