The first round of the inter-faculty category of Jaw War which was held on Thursday, 14th November at the New Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Science, during which fourteen faculties battled one another to get to the Quarter Finals.
The event began at exactly 4:50 with the National, and UI anthems. Some of the topics debated on include “State Police: The Solution to Nigeria’s Security Issue?”, “Is Entrepreneurship a Valuable Solution to Nigeria’s Problem?” and many others.
At the end of intense exchange of verbal weapons, Faculties of Science, Technology, Veterinary Medicine, Social Sciences, Arts and Law proceed to the Quarter Finals with the Faculty of Education qualifying as the best loser.
The second leg of the Hall Category held on Friday, November 15th. Some of the topics debated on include “Re-instatement of Student Union in Nigerian Universities, Necessary?”, “Unpaid Internship, justified?” “Student Representation in Central University Governance, Justifiable?” and many others.
Tedder hall, Indy hall, Awo hall, Kuti hall, Zik hall and Idia hall proceed to the Quarter Final round which will hold on Wednesday, 20th November and Friday, 22 November for the Inter faculty and Inter hall categories respectively.
