The organisers of the NASELS Prize for Literature, formerly known the Prof. Ayo Kehinde Literature Prize, have called for submission of entries for the 2020 year edition.

According to a statement released on the blog site by the organisers, submissions for the prize are now in two categories: fiction and creative non-fiction (essay), and is exclusively opened to only undergraduate students from the Department of English and those majoring  in English Education from the Faculty of Education.

The prize was instituted in the 2016/2017 academic year by the   now Head of Department of English, Professor Ayo Kehinde, as a way of promoting literary scholarship among student of the English Department. The maiden edition saw a 400 Level student, Mr Tope Lanre Bello clinched the N30, 000 grand prize, with an essay entry, while the second prize went to Miss Deborah; Miss Tijesu came third. The second year edition could not hold due to reasons which the then administration of Miss Oluwatoni said, “it was beyond them to disclose to the press”.
