241 out of the 7340 students who graduated at the University of Ibadan in the 2017/2018 convocation ceremony held on Tuesday 12th of November 2019 bagged first class degree in their various courses of study

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abel Olayinka disclosed this on Tuesday at the 71st foundation and convocation ceremony held at the International Conference Centre.

According to him the Faculty of Science topped the number of first-class with 46, followed by the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry with 38 and Faculty of Technology, 27.

A special recognition was given to Miss Mary Ehbonielen of the Department of Computer Science who graduated with the Cumulative Grade Point Average of 7.0

The VC tasked the grandaunts to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they found themselves.

Meanwhile the guest lecturer, Dr Olunide Adedeji called on the grandaunts to always cultivate the habit of foresight so as to fulfill the vision of the school.

The 2017/2018 session convocation ceremony would feature a convocation lecture to be delivered on Thursday, 14th November, 2019 by Prof. Attahiru Jega, the former Chairman of the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC)
