On Wednesday, 21st of August, President Muhammadu Buhari confirmed the appointment of Mr. Sunday Dare, as the minister of youths and sports in Nigeria.

The new minister is a native of Oyo state and has once served as a special adviser on media to Ahmed Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor.
He is succeeding Barrister Solomon Dalung who served under Buhari’s first term administration.
The new minister is a veteran journalist who had worked in diverse aspects of the media, including electronic and print, and spent decades in multimedia journalism, an experience which spanned for over 25 years.
He is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) honours in International Studies. He also has Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos, Plateau State.
A recognised fellow, home and abroad, he won the Reuters Foundation Journalism Research Fellowship, at University of Oxford, United Kingdom in 2011.
He was appointed with other ministers such as Chris Ngige from Anambra State, Minister of Labour and Employment; Adamu Adamu from Bauchi State, Minister of Education and many more.
